Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant Course Overview

The Medical Assistant (MA) Hybrid Program is an accelerated certification course that blends three days of self-paced online instruction with one hands-on in-person training day. Through this flexible format, students gain essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control, vital signs, patient communication, and medical office procedures. The online portion also introduces students to basic clinical skills, electronic health records (EHR), insurance billing, and laboratory concepts including phlebotomy and EKG theory. During the in-person skills day, students put their knowledge into practice by learning how to take vital signs, administer injections, perform venipuncture using phlebotomy arms, and place EKG leads on a simulation manikin or volunteer. Additional training includes CPR/BLS practice, handwashing, gloving, and patient interaction role-play. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to take a national certification exam through AMCA or American Allied Health (AAH), making them workforce-ready in just a few days.
